Snowflake Christmas Place Cards

Step 1:

Remove the ornament hanger from the top of the ball. Using blue puffy paint, draw snowflakes onto your ball. See the photo above to get an idea of a snowflake design. You can draw any snowflake design you like. It is best to do just a few snowflakes and then let it dry, before adding more. This way you are less likely to smudge them while working. Let them dry completely before moving on to step 2.

Step 2:

Fill the ball with white candy. We used white chocolate chips. You could also use white M&M's or white jelly beans, or any other small white candy you can think of.

Step 3:

Put the ornament hanger back onto the ball.

Step 4:

Now make name tags for all of your guests (see material list above for name tag template) and tie them on the balls with blue ribbon.

When the candy is gone, your guests could fill them with cotton balls and hang them on their tree.

Painted Stripe Christmas Place Cards

Step 1:

Remove the ornament hanger from the top of the ball. Paint wavy white stripes around the ball (horizontal or vertical). Then let the ball dry completely.

Step 2:

Paint a second coat of paint over each stripe. As you re-paint each stripe, sprinkle glitter on it while the paint is still wet. Then let dry completely.

Step 3:

After the paint has dried completely, dust off any excess glitter with a tissue or dry paint brush. Fill the ball with red or green candy. We used M&M's. You could also use jelly beans or any other small red or green candy. Now put the ornament hanger back onto the ball.

Step 4:

Now make name tags for all of your guests and tie them on the balls with red or green ribbon (see material list above for name tag template).

When the candy is gone, your guests could fill them with red tinsel and hang them on their tree.

Ribbon Christmas Place Cards

Step 1:

Remove the ornament hanger from the top of the ball. Take your ribbon and measure how long a piece needs to be to wrap around the ball. Then cut six pieces in this length. We used two sizes and shades of ribbon for our example.

Step 2:

Begin hot gluing each piece of ribbon on. For each ribbon, place a small dab of hot glue near the neck of the ornament, then another dab on the very bottom, and another around on the other side of the neck. This way each ribbon will stay securely in place.

Step 3:

You can now hot glue some sequins onto the ribbons. The color and spacing of the sequins is up to you!

Hopefully you enjoyed these ideas, and maybe they inspired you to make up your own look. Be creative and have fun!

I use a small gold or silver plastic snowflake for my stand. Just glue the ornament in the middle of the snowflake. Looks real nice on the table.

Rose Says:

That was kind of an unusual idea. I had several clear ornament balls and this is a good idea for Christmas gifts.
